i’m having an orval trappist ale while i sit down and unwind after work. it’s a very nice, “complex” ale, but where do these beer nerds find their words to describe beer? check this out, from an online beer critic regarding orval….

….An intense aroma – hops, herbs, a hint of something sour, & wet wool. Incredibly complex.

It passes the lips and leads off with a playful touch of sour wet leather. It continues with fresh herbs, spring flowers, and fresh cut grass….

but, you know, funny thing is i can taste a lot of those elements in this beer. and one of the beer advocate brothers gave it a very high rating. gianni, tell ‘gootros-gootros gali’ to look for it at total beverage.
