We had our latest ultrasound on Monday (29 weeks 4 days) and the first thing the technician said was – “my, these are big babies!”. It turns out the boy is about 3lb11oz and the girl is 3lb7oz. So they are both in about the 65th percentile – for singletons! It is no wonder I feel ready to deliver as I am carrying 7lb2oz of baby at the moment. Eleni was 7lb 8 oz.
The main thing is that both are healthy and everything looks normal. The boy is head down and the girl is breech but this should not matter with the C-section.
We also went on a quick tour of the Labor & Delivery ward at UVA – they mostly have single rooms with some doubles. This will be a big improvement on the 8 person open ward we had for Eleni. The hospital staff seem nice and the facilities up-to-date so everything seems to be on track for a better birth experience than last time.
My OB has agreed to do the C-section on 14th June now – unless of course they come earlier. I am predicting they will be here at 35 weeks so time will tell.
