Weekend Update

Spent most of yesterday Christmas shopping in Cambridge which was heaving with people but pleasantly warm. OK it was warm for over here – we had our jumpers on but no coats, hats, scarves etc. Have put my ‘wishlist’ on the homepage (hint, hint) and planning to finish the Christmas shopping for Christos’ family today. Had to do most of mine last week because of the time it takes to mail things to Australia. Mind you, I am not sure Christos will get his gifts to Greece in time so fingers crossed.

Happy Birthday to Lana

Happy Birthday Lana

Many happy returns to Lana who was 12 years old on 12th December 2004. I still remember when Lana was in nappies and now she sends me emails and keeps me up to date with what’s cool and what’s not! Happy birthday Lana – hope your girls party night went well.

Lana shares her birthday with – Rachel Ward (famous actress), Barry White (famous singer) and Linda Grey (famous actress). Wonder what Lana will do with her life?

our first Christmas TreeChristmas

Spent last weekend getting ready for Christmas. Friday night and Sat we were in London where we did some shopping at Portabello Markets and also went to The Tate and to see the ‘Saved’ exhibition at The Haywood Gallery.

On Sunday we braved the cold to buy our Christmas tree. This is my first ever real Christmas tree and we have been collecting some nice decorations for it over the last month. There is no room for anything else much in our loungeroom with the tree up but it looks and smells really nice.

We will be spending Christmas at home in Cambridge this year. It will be the first time that Christos has spent Christmas away from his family in the US. Last year we were in St Louis and had snow, and the year before I was in Sydney and had the bushfires. It has been really cold here the last couple of days but not much of a chance for a white Christmas as it tends to snow in Jan here rather than Dec.

We also had some news that the owners are selling our rented flat so we could be on the move unless they find a buyer who wants us to stay. We will have to make a decision in January – moving will be a hassle but it would be nice to have a place that we both chose. I am keen to move out of the city and into the countryside (into a dog friendly house with a garden) but Christos is wary about moving too far from the cafes of Cambridge (also add traffic and excessive rents!).

Am having a bit of fun at the moment recording Christos snoring behind me. Will have to see how to add sound to this blog. He has a cold so the snoring is a bit louder than normal.
