Looking forward to Froboy coming home tomorrow – although he gets in to Gatwick at 7am which means an early start for me to get down there. Anyway, he has been away for far too long and has ended up with a cold as well – so will need some TLC when he gets home.
I was all set to start my Greek classes on Tuesday night which they have now cancelled for some unknown reason. I am most upset about it as I was really looking forward to it. Here’s hoping they will have them going next semester.
I’ve also been working on my friends father’s biography which I am doing as part of my research into my other business which is called “My Memories”. He served in the war so has some interesting stories to tell. I am planning to offer a “life story” writing service so that people can record their memories for their families and friends. This will be a written, as well as a photographic record, and who knows where it will lead.

Happy Birthday – Alex Tutt (23 September)
Many happy returns to Alex who turns 9 years old on Tuesday. I saw Alex swimming in the school carnival last time I was there and he also enjoys jumping into dams, riding his bike, counting his money and playing with his new dog. Hope you have a fabulous birthday Alex.

I am keen to enlist the help of you all in writing up and publishing the family tree material on my webpage. I am doing both the Helyar and Armstrong clans and any interesting stories or facts would be appreciated. Here is the link to the armstrong work I have done so far.
Florence Visit
I had my 40th birthday in Florence with FroBoy and was woken up with 40 kisses from the man himself. We had a great time on our trip. We started out from Stansted and flew to Pisa. Using my best Italian I managed to get us bus tickets into town where we saw the Leaning Tower and other sights. We passed on climbing to the top but got the cheesy photos of us holding it up. After a couple of hours there we got the train onto Florence. We stayed at a nice hotel quite close to the station and the Duomo. The next three days were spent seeing the sights such as the Uffizi, Academia (home of the Statue of David), some lovely churches and other historic buildings. One of the highlights was our trip to Sienna which is just beautiful – but our pictures do not do it justice. There is a big central piazza and narrow streets with beautiful old buildings and great shops. Christos had a field day in the Wild Boar shop, buying up exotic pasta sauces and boar salami. FroBoy thoroughly spoilt me for my birthday (business card case, atomiser, compact, leather jacket, hats, giraffe coffee mug – just to name a few of my wonderful pressies – plus his gorgeous self every day, which really made this birthday special.
Firenze
Well we are off to Florence tomorrow (5.45am) for my 40th birthday bash. We are there from 4-9th Sept and will be enjoying our fair share of museums, Italian food and wine. Stay tuned for an update.
Oh – forgot to mention the golf. We lost 5 balls between us but managed to find a few whilst scouting the fringes of the lakes so we came up about even. Needless to say, we both had our water-homing hats on. Not much between the two of us in terms of score – Christos landed on the green on his very first shot but had a disaster hole of 11. He also managed to whack a duck on the head with a golf ball that went slightly off target. Ummm… think a bit more time on the driving range is needed for both of us.
