it’s nice to see that “gianni” has adjusted to life in the USA. hope to continue to hear from him. wonder if he’ll drop the lame italian moniker now.
i’ve just returned from a week in germany. i was in the black forest region of baden wurttenberg. it was my first time there in the height of autumn and the colors were beautiful, though not quite like virginia or new england. most of my time was spent in the home of porsche, stuttgart. but i also took aussie girl to a couple of small towns in the area, esslingen and tubingen, and we travelled north to the romantic city of heidelberg. it was a nice change being there with a girl. not that gianni or brother pete were bad company on my last couple of visits. the second weekend, we took a day trip across the border to strasbourg, france, which was quite nice and finished off with a visit to the awesome burg hohenzollern. it’s a castle that sits on a hill about 45 minutes south of stuttgart.
i also upgraded to a 4 megapixel digital camera just before the trip. i bought a nikon coolpix 4300. i had a dependable 2 megapixel kodak dc280, but it had basic features and the lower megapixel capability. i’m sending that one to the parents so that they can get into the digital age. the nikon is great so far. i especially like the 30 second movie capture feature. it’s a lot of fun and i may put a movie or two online in the future. i know everyone can’t wait.
