i’ve been purposely not looking into how my greek brethren are reacting to operation iraqi freedom because i’ve been scared i might read things like this…

More than 100,000 people, many of them high school and university students, marched to the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece, chanting “No to the war” and “Americans, killers of people.”

that really gets to me. it’s kind of like how it hurts more when someone you love says something or does something despicable. there are plenty of other very disturbing quotes in that article. i can’t get my head around the reasoning of these people. is it envy that we have the balls and the power to get rid of a dictator who wages war on neighbors and kills his own people? have they forgotten 9/11 and can’t see that something much worse can happen when an american and israel-hating madman possesses wmd? are they blind to the crimes of hussein? do they think the snails at the un would have ever accomplished anything without force or the immediate threat of force? here we are putting our young mens’ lives at risk to make the world a better place for everyone and we’re despised for it. what kind of world is this?
